About this Policy

Operated by Employed. Effective 7 July 2026; last updated 7 July 2026. The English version is authoritative.

This Policy explains what personal data Employed processes, why, and your rights. Employed is the data controller.

1. Data we collect

Account data: name, email address, password hash, and roles. Listing data: the job details and contact information you publish. Application/profile data: résumé/profile content you create. Payment data: your featured-payment status and a PayPal transaction reference (never card or bank details). Technical data: IP address (stored hashed for abuse prevention), device/browser information, and logs.

2. Why we process it (legal bases)

To provide the Service and your account (contract); to keep the marketplace safe and prevent abuse, including bot protection (legitimate interests); to process featured payments (contract); to send transactional email such as verification, password reset, and notifications (contract/legitimate interests); and to comply with law (legal obligation).

3. Sharing

We share data with processors who operate the Service on our behalf: PayPal (payments), Amazon Web Services (transactional email via SES, and hosting), Cloudflare (bot protection/CDN), and Chatwoot (support conversations). Public listings and the contact method you choose are visible to other users by design. We do not sell your personal data.

4. International transfers

Some processors are located outside Mozambique. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on the processor's safeguards and applicable contractual protections.

5. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above and per our Data Retention Policy. You can delete your account at any time, which schedules deletion of your account and associated content.

6. Your rights

Subject to law, you may access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. You can manage most of this from your account settings, or contact legal@joinemployed.com. You may also complain to a competent data-protection authority.

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, hashed IP logging, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact legal@joinemployed.com.

9. Changes & contact

We may update this Policy; material changes update the “last updated” date. Contact: legal@joinemployed.com — Employed.
